Survey Instruments > Carlson > Carlson Takeoff
Carlson Takeoff is the most complete and powerful site estimating software on the market -- available as an AutoCAD-based standalone product or as a module of Carlson 2007.

Carlson Takeoff offers critical Drawing Cleanup features and advanced 2D to 3D routines that streamline the estimating process. It can input all data formats, including DWG, DXF, LandXML, and all formats of Centerline, Profiles, and Section Data. Takeoff calculates cut/fill material volumes and has 3D simulation as well as comprehensive reporting. In addition, roadwork, trenching, drill-holes, and sub-grades capabilities are all included for one affordable price.

Standard Features

Built on AutoCAD 2004 engine.
2D to 3D conversion routines for linework and spot elevations.
Digitizing routines.
Calculates volumes and material quantities.
Cut/Fill Color Maps and labels.
Surfaces are modeled by triangulation
3D Drive Over Simulation
Easy to use: automated routines with reduced prompting

System Requirements

The recommended system requirements for Carlson Takeoff are the same as those of AutoCAD 2004.

  Windows® XP Professional, XP Home,
2000, NT 4.0 with SP 6a or later

No Longer Officially Supported:  Microsoft Windows 3.x or earlier, 95 and 98 Click here for more information.

Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0
Intel Pentium® III Processor or later
500 Mhz (minimum), 800 Mhz (recommended)
256 MB RAM
1024 x 768 VGA with True Color (minimum), Pointing device Mouse, trackball, or other device

Less capable machines (such as Pentium 233) can run Carlson Takeoff, but the results may be less than ideal. Sufficient swap space is also required to handle installation of Carlson Takeoff as well as any data or drawing files saved. The use of additional memory or faster processors will directly improve performance and capacity. Note that Windows 95 is not supported.
